A family-run restaurant serving traditional southern fare. Phil stops by this casual spot and experience southern hospitality at its finest.

2. Jim and Samella's


Named after their grandparents and across the home where their grandma lived, the restaurant effuses the warmth and comfort of the family. Friends and neighbors dine at communal tables to share these classic Southern treats.

1. Peabody Hotel

149 Union Ave, Memphis, TN 38103


This historical, luxury hotel is in heart of downtown Memphis and just blocks away from Beale street. It is known for the march of the ducks, which Phil participates in to lead the group of ducks from the fountain in the lobby back to the top of the roof.



2. Sun Studios

706 Union Ave, Memphis

The legendary birthplace of rock n' roll, Sun Studios has seen artists including like BB King, Johnny Cash, and of course the one and only Elvis Presley. Elvis recorded his first song here when he was 18.



3. Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church

70 N Bellevue Blvd, Memphis, TN 38104


Phil visits the church to be a judge for a local food competition. He tries out appetizers including tortilla soup, broccoli cheese cornbread, and soul rolls before congregating in the larger room to take part in the party. Spirits are high amongst the friendly people as he tries out amazing dishes such as turkey and oxtail.



4. Beale Street


The home of blues music since the 19th century, Beale Street is a must-visit for anyone coming to Memphis. Tons of restaurants, bars, and live music venues line the street as locals and tourists enjoy the nightlife.
